Students in 6/7-L Keep Santa Company at Parade

Some of our grade 6s had the opportunity to ride along with Santa Claus at the Madoc Santa Claus Parade on Saturday. They joined some grade 5 students from Mr. Pollock's class.  All did a great job helping to usher in the Christmas season in Centre Hastings.

6/7-Lers Becoming Fractionistas!

Our guest math specialist, Mrs. Wilson, has finished up a week-long stint in 6/7-L, working with our kids on fractions.  The focus has been on using math manipulatives such as number lines, cuisenaire rods, fraction towers and fraction strips in order to identify and compare proper fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers.  The manipulatives also help the students to identify equivalent fractions.
