I'm Going to Remember Your Story
Our class, 6/7-L, is teaming up with Ms. Burr's 3/4 class to create a media presentation for Remembrance Day. This weekend, we have asked students to investigate any personal/family connections to a veteran, and the story that goes with it.
The theme of the project is "I'm Going to Remember Your Story." Students are asked to take the time to chat with their families and write about their special person.
As an example:
My grandfather was from Tweed and joined the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment as a young man when WWII broke out. He was a motorcycle dispatch rider, and was taken prisoner in Italy in 1943 and spent remaining years of the war in POW camps. After the war and for the rest of his life, my grandfather had to be woken from a sleep using a long stick because he would wake up in a panic, yelling and swinging for his life.
