Practicing Math Skills Through Games

In 6/7-L we like to get our brains activated early.  The day often begins with math games, usually involving the use of manipulatives such as base ten blocks, math tiles, connecting cubes and dice.  

Here, the students are playing a game of Conquest, which works on skills involving the perimeters and areas of rectangles.

As part of the dance strand of the Ontario arts curriculum, the students, within small groups, are planning, choreographing, practicing and performing dances to selections of music chosen by each group.
