6/7 Islands are Growing

Within groups, the students have created island countries.  When the game began, the students spun spinners to decide what climates their islands were and what natural resources were available.  

Groups receive marbles each day for things like good behaviour, great answers to classroom questions, assignment completion etc.  

Each Friday is our 'Year-Ender' where each island can make or lose money based on the type and number of features they purchase for their islands using the marbles they have been awarded over the course of the week.

The 'Create-a-Society' game practices valuable math skills as well as those involving social studies, geography and science.
