6/7-Lers Show Their STEM Skills

Many future job opportunities will be STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) related.  Students in 6/7-L were introduced to this field through a Christmas ornament project.  Students used wood, measuring tapes, snips and glue guns to construct the triangular ornaments with specific angle measurements.  This work with angles will provide a head-start for our geometry focus in the new year. 

The student were also required to complete a safety package which discussed the importance of wearing eye protection, and exercising caution when using construction tools.

As part of the dance strand of the Ontario arts curriculum, the students, within small groups, are planning, choreographing, practicing and performing dances to selections of music chosen by each group.
