You Can Balance Just about Anything

In science, the grade 6s have been focused on science of flight, including the four forces required for controlled flight to occur.  The grade 7s have been looking at various kinds of structures, and the elements that need to be considered to construct safe and stable structures.

We took some time to bring the two grades together for a discussion on the centre of gravity and how this is a vitally important thing to consider in both airplanes and structures.  The students took a few minutes to see if they could find the centre of gravity in a variety of classroom objects.
