6/7-L is Celebrating Dance!

Schools in HPEDSB have been participating in the Celebration of Dance program for many years.  If you grew up in the area, as I did, you may remember your entire school busing down to the fair grounds in Belleville in order to mass-dance to a variety of numbers practiced by each student back of their school.

Celebration of Dance is still alive and well at Madoc Township.  Each classroom is practicing and preparing for our school-wide dance event in early May. 

The students are also being assessed in dance as part of the Term 2 report card, a lot of that based on participation.

As part of the dance strand of the Ontario arts curriculum, the students, within small groups, are planning, choreographing, practicing and performing dances to selections of music chosen by each group.
