A National Award for One of Our Teachers


My teaching colleague and friend Angela Burr has been recognized on the national level with a Certificate of Achievement through the Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching Excellence in STEM program.  

Ms. Burr was recognized for her creative and innovative teaching methods that spark student interest and inquiry-based learning, and often involve community experts who come into her classroom to share their expertise and knowledge.  

I have had the opportunity to work with Angela on many of her class projects, and know first-hand the time, effort, thought and loving-care that she puts into her job as an educator.

As part of the dance strand of the Ontario arts curriculum, the students, within small groups, are planning, choreographing, practicing and performing dances to selections of music chosen by each group.
